Living the dream
Not everyone is lucky enough to live their dream. While some simply do not get an opportunity to follow their passion, others give up because of various reasons. This is for people who give up on their dreams because they are scared or because their parents are against it:
I understand that you don’t wish to go against your parents and your close ones, but they aren’t going to live your life for you. The rest of your life, you must live it for yourself. What you decide now will have an impact on the rest of your life and if you choose to give up on your dreams, you may not have another opportunity to chase it and you may live to regret it. You are not selfish for wanting to be happy, you’re not inconsiderate for taking decisions keeping your best interest in mind. Ultimately, the person who must live with the decisions you take is you, not your family, not your friends. It’s better to disappoint your close ones for a couple of years than it is to disappoint yourself for the rest of your life.
Life does not give you multiple opportunities to live your dream and not everyone is lucky enough to be given even one. So, if life does give you one chance, take it. Take it with no regrets and back yourself to be the person you want to be.
If you’re thinking of giving up on your dreams because you’re scared or because you don’t think you’re good enough to succeed, listen to me closely; You may fail, there is no guarantee that you’ll succeed but least you tried. Least you had the guts to stand up for yourself and follow your passion and that my friend, is a privilege not everyone has. Following your dreams will make you happy and will help you live a life of satisfaction. But, if you don’t try, you’ll live a life of regret always wondering “what if”. Let me tell you this, it’s always better to live with your chin up saying, “at least I tried” rather than living looking over your shoulders wondering “What if”. The choice is yours; you can live your life the way you want, but it’s not going to be easy. You’ll have to make a lot of sacrifices, take decisions that might not please your close ones and live in pain initially, but eventually, the pain will subside, and it will all be worth it.
You live only once, so make sure you become the person you want to be.
